Amongst the awesome artists I chatted with, I have to mention Jaime Tyndall. Even though our conversation was cut short by his adoring fans, it was still really great to talk to him. He was urging me to do way more conventions all over the world. I can’t argue with him, it would be great to travel the world and talk to my fans everywhere!

I also had the pleasure of chatting with the beautiful Olivia. This lady is the reason I decided to go into pinup. Her work is continuously inspiring. We talked about staying inspired for new works and keeping the creative juices flowing. I am sure that we are going to see some amazing stuff from Olivia in the near future!

It was also great having my lovely models there with me at the show. First up was Emily Addison.  PentHouse Pet Of the Year Runner up for 2012, Emily is one gorgeous lady. Not only does she love to model and can hit all the right poses, but she is a nerd!! Emily loved hanging out at the show and seeing all the art and new gamer stuff. I know how to pick my models!!  Emily was there signing all the Princess Leia prints I had of her and my latest piece, Country Girls Pack.

I also had the extremely sweet and incredibly lovely LeeAnna Vamp. She was in her walking dead costume and signing all the Chewbacca prints I had of her.

I have plans to have new pieces of both girls to debut at future shows! I loved having them there at the booth hanging out with us!!

And of course, I was there with the most beautiful booth babe of them all, My Little Rose Marie!! Me and Mr. Nicole (aka, John Roach) had the cutest little bundle of smiles there for every fan that came to the booth. She smiled and waved at everyone and was so happy to hang out!!

Ok, I am going to get back to work. Thank you to everyone who came out to see us!! I promise to keep painting and make some new stuff for the next show. Have I got a schedule for you! I am planning on so many things this year. I have been taking a lot of time lately to plan out my whole year. Ya, I said my whole year! I have been planning which cities to visit and which pieces to debut and when.  It has been a lot of fun and over the past several months I have done a lot of photo shoots with some incredible beautiful models!

So lets get to it! Lets get this schedule out in the open!

First up is WonderCon in Anaheim Ca. March 29-31.   I will have a Nicole Brune booth there and will be debuting a couple of sexy peices.

1. “Love Me Harder”  This piece features the very exotic model Qetesh!

2. “Id Rather Kiss The Wookie”  This piece features the incredibly lovely and super talented LeeAna Vamp. LeeAnna will be at my booth on sunday, March 31st. Come on by, get your copy and get it signed by not only the Artist, but also the model! How exciting is that?

3. “From Lisa With Love”  This piece features the incredibly beautiful Lisa Love.

4. “Midnight Rendezvous” This piece features super sexy model Emily Addison as Cat Woman.

I will also have another piece to debut of Emily, but as I write this blog, its not quite ready yet. I will post it up as soon as it is. If you would like to get an autograph from Emily, please do stop by the booth, she will be there all three days.

After WonderCon, I will have a gallery showing in Riverside Ca, at the GOPA Gallery. I will be showing my black and white collection. If you have ever wanted to see any of my pencil work in person and see all the little details, this is your chance. The show is the first thursday of May.

I will be going up to San Jose for the Big Wow Comic Fest. I am very excited to try out this convention. I have heard a lot of great things about it and I think that it will be a wonderful new place to meet new friends and fans!I have a pretty good idea of what piece I want to debut at this show. I will give you a hint…. she is a member of COBRA!

After Big Wow! I will be going to Phoenix Comicon! This is over memorial day weekend. I did this convention last year and it was a big success. I am incredibly excited to return. If you are in the area, please do stop by.I have already planned out what piece I will be debuting at this show! Stay tuned for it!

Of course, I will be showing at San Diego Comic Con again this year! Come find me over at booth # 4539!! I am so excited to be returning to san diego! I talked to another well known artist today and we are planing out a collaboration peice to debut at the show! Stay tuned and I will post when it is started.

and to wrap up 2013, I will be exhibiting at Comikaze again in November. I am actually not sure yet which piece I will debut at this show. I am open to suggestions! But get them in as soon as you can… I am thinking away over here!

My point of all this is that there is a lot of stuff to do….. always. I am not sure how super moms do it….my house is always messy. I usually have dishes in the sink…. once in a while I don’t, but usually. I cook I clean I draw I paint and all the while I just want to sit and play with Rose and relax with Mr. Nicole.  But I started thinking about what stuff I would want to give up. Would I want to give up drawing and painting? No. I love that too much and have worked to long to stop. And there is no way I would give up family time. So I decided that I am going to give up cleaning. Ok, well, I can;’t not do that either. But I have decided that I am going to not worry about it as much. If my dishes want to hang out in the sink, well hey, thats ok.   Those are small priorities compared to the things and people that I love.

A lot of people struggle with time. There is not enough time in the day for so many people. They run around trying to get everything done and they stress over the little stuff….like the dishes in the sink. But the truth of it all is, that stuff doesn’t matter. Take notice of the big things that you are thankful for that is in your life. In my case I am thankful for Mr. Nicole and I am thankful for Rose. I love them both so much. They make this life worth living. And I am thankful for my art and the fact that I have a long long time of improving my skills ahead of me. I am so excited to see what I can do with the next piece that I work on and the piece after that. I love that I will continue to develope. I am thankful for my family and friends. They keep me entertained. I am thankful for my health and thankful for the health of those around me. …..I could go on, but you get the point……

This whole blog comes down to this point….don’t sweat the small stuff and really be thankful for the wonderful irreplaceable gifts that you have.  So heck with the dishes….I have more important things to think about.

So, after that I made my way around Oregon and saw some beautiful sights! My favorite was Multnomah Falls. It was so pretty!

And Mt. Hood was awesome as always. And of course, I got to spend some time with family and friends. And I even played a little VolleyBall and saw that I still have some skills left over from my grade school days! I took Rose to Sea World and she got to Pet a Dolphin. I am an awesome mom!!!

But lets get down to business! You all want to know how Comic Con was for me. Well, IT WAS AWESOME!! Which is another reason I went on vacation! I had such a great show, I was able to reward myself!

So here are some of the highlights……..

1. My “Daddy’s Little Princess” piece was a HUGE HUGE HUGE success. Even the guys from Lucas Films were at the booth every day buying more and more copies. The VP of Licensing said that it was the Best Princess Leia he has ever seen. I am so thrilled with that! I can’t even say how honored and flattered I am by the response. I really loved doing that drawing and I am so pleased with how she turned out. My limited editions did great and my metal signs were a hit!

2. My friends and models came by the booth and did signings. I had the lovely Heather Conlin, Vanessa Lake, Anastasia Pierce and Yaya Han at the booth. Whats better then being surrounded by beautiful women?? Ummmmm, I can’t think of it either!! LOL  So that was a lot of fun. There was so much laughter and smiles at the booth. We were all so happy and just really enjoying the experience and the merriment of comic con.  Its good when you are around friends!

3. I got to see a lot of my favorite artists and hang out a bit with them again. Those include Lorenzo Sperlonga, Mike DeBalfo, Brian Rood, J. Scott Campbell, Nei Ruffino, Olivia De Berardinis and Dirk Richter. Dirk came all the way out from Germany and he was hanging out at the booth the entire time. We have the best artists over here at PinUp World Art. Dirk is such a fantastic guy! And he is such a great artist!!

4. DC loved my Black Canary. Apparently its a take on the super hero that they haven’t seen yet. …… I am getting known for my “Different Takes” on characters. My Wonderland Series is proof of that!!

5. Some beautiful Ladies almost made me cry tears of happiness when they presented my daughter with a bear that they made using the fabric from one of my mothers dresses. The beautiful Twin Bees are responsible for my Rogue Costume that I rocked last year (while Pregnant I might Add) and they made Rose a little Bear and a cute super hero skirt for her to wear next year. And wear it she will!!!!!!! Check them out!!

6. My Wonderland series looked awesome together. I was offering the set together and I ran out of the prints that I had at the show! Ummm, i guess that means that people really like MY DIFFERENT TAKE ON ALICE IN WONDERLAND! Get your copies Here!!

7. I came across a whole bunch of new ideas. I am not going to say what I am going to do because I hate ruining surprises, but don’t worry, I always have great ideas!!

8. My Baby girl was adored by thousands. Whenever she was awake (which was most of the time) she was smiling at everyone that came to the booth. I can’t express just how much I am in love with my little girl. She brings Joy and Happiness wherever she goes.

9. I signed a contract and set up a new deal……….. I will tell you more on that later!!

10. I decided my next big adventure in this thing called life. Also will tell you more when I have a definite on that as well!

11. I had dinner with some great friends and worked out and Idea for an awesome collaboration with a fantastic comic book artist!

12. I was interviewed by several sites and magazines. The one that stands out is Playboy. Ya, they dug my work!And to be fair, in this photo, I am wearing flip flops, they are wearing huge heels!!!  See part of the interview here!!!

So, there you have it! Some are vague, some are straightforward….. but all are POSITIVE AND HAPPY! My art is created to bring joy and happiness. I want to bring smiles to peoples faces. I want to  spread joy! Comic Con was a great experience all the way around. I know that next year will be just as fantastic for us and I am really looking forward to it. I have a little less then a year to get ready and believe me, next year will be AMAZING! You will not want to miss a minute of it!!

So here is the stuff worked out so far……..

Vanessa Lake will be at our booth signing on friday. She is scheduled to arrive around 11:30 but with how crazy it is down there so she will get there are soon as she can

On Saturday and throughout the convention, LeeAnna Vamp will be at the booth signing. She is the model for my 1 Million Years B.C. drawing. Come on by and check her out in costume!

I haven’t worked out which day yet, but YAYA HAN will be at the booth signing! We all love Yaya!! Of course she will be at the convention the whole time so you can probably find her with a crowd of people around her with their cameras!

And last but not least! Heather Conlin will be at the booth everyday! So do come by and get a signed copy of the works of art that Dirk and I did of Heather. Dirk drew her with a beautiful umbrella and I drew her as a tribute to DC’s Black Canary! Heather will be there rocking the Mohawk!

And of course, we will be there too!!

So, Comic Con in San Diego is coming soon! I have a plethora of new ideas!! Ok back to work!!

The gallery showing went really well. I was so proud to see my artwork displayed on the featured wall. And the response was great. Many new artists sought out my advice on techniques and models. I was very happy to answer all questions! It was my pleasure! It wasn’t too long ago that I was at other gallery showings doing the exact same thing to other artists! I wanted to learn from those I admired! Its always good to learn!

But I have had a lot of time to think. And I have been thinking about art. I have come up with a lot of new ideas that I really want to try out. First, I want to break out my chalk pastels again. I haven’t used them in over 6 years…. I think its time to play with them again. I want to try a SteamPunk theme for them. I have had the pleasure of photographing some very lovely models in steampunk gear and they will make a wonderful work of art! I also want to do some tributes to some of my favorite artists. These artists include Elvgren, Greg Hildebrandt, Olivia, and Godard. Interested? Well I hope so, because these paintings are not going to be quick things to do. They are going to take a lot of planning. Of course, as I start working on these ideas, I will be filming my progress so you can see what I am up to! I might even post some of the photoshoots of the models as well.

Well, that was the first thing I noticed today. The second…. there are a lot of great movies coming out next year! I am really excited to see The Avengers movie. I have really loved all the movies leading up to this movie. I can not wait to see all of these Marvel comic book icons in one film. And the way that they gave each of them a back story with thier own movie was really a wise move. The problem with the X-Men movies is that they had so many characters and you didn’t really get a chance to get to know any of them. There are so many stories and so much history for each character.  

I won’t go into depth on all the movies that I am looking forward to, but I will give a little list….

Men in Black 3 ,  Wrath of the Titans,  UnderWorld the Awakening,  The Dark Knight Rises (Especially this one) , GI Joe 2 

There are so many movies and so little time. I will be talking more about these movies as I see them.    As for right now, I have to get back to work. I have just a few more weeks until my little one is due to be born. That means I have just a few more weeks of work left in me!  So, I better get back to it!! You all have a great night!!

With the whirlwind that is my life, I haven’t had a lot of time lately to reflect on the fact that I won’t have her with me this year. But today I started my holiday traditions with a little baking and it hit me that I am the one that has to carry on these traditions since my mother won’t be doing it as well this year. My heart began to ache.

But then something funny happened. Just when I was starting to feel a wave of saddness wash over me, my little girl kicked and my thoughts went immediatly to her. In that moment, I knew that I was now the momma and I was the one that has to pass on these traditions to her and to give her the wonderful childhood and memories and love that my mother gave me. So, this year, I dedicate Christmas to my mother and my daughter. I feel a sense of purpose and a feeling of obligation that I am still getting use to. I have always been the baby girl to my momma and now, without her around and my daughter on the way, I am the momma and waiting for my baby girl.

Its funny how life keeps the cycle going. No matter what we do, life goes on. The world doesn’t stop for my broken heart. But now the pain doesn’t hurt as much with the love I am already feeling for my baby girl. And on that day when she is born, I know my mother will be watching over me and smiling.
